The mornings are cool, the nights are crisp but the days are just amazing! Townsville is certainly the best place to do winter if you ask me.

Even so, the chill in the air is around and I like to stay toasty warm. Beanies can often be too much up here so I love a good crocheted headband to help keep my head and my ears warm without feeling overheated.

This pattern by Maybe Matilda is the easiest pattern I have ever used and took me less than 40 min – in front of the camp fire a few weeks back.

Mine is a shade of yellow – of course!

Do you have a headband pattern you could share?

I’d love to make a few more!

The owner and creator, Sonia Lyne, is addicted to embroidery. Her designs are colourful, whimsical and sweet. Each piece truly celebrates many facets of life; family, friends, colour, simplicity and fun. Combining a love for embroidery and all things mini, Dandelyne delivers on quality, love and originality.

She is a Melbourne based girl and works out of a space in her home. She has 5 boys in her life; one big (hubby), 3 small and 1 furry (pooch). Dandelyne has been able to turn her hobby/passion into an evolving business over the past year and a half. After having her third baby, and working a number of careers across fashion, she realised it was time to bring everything she had learnt and turn her passion into a long term sustainable business.

Dandelyne’s love for embroidery and colour is evident in her work. Her attention to detail is inspirational, and even more so, as much of her work is framed by a tiny hoop.

The miniature embroidery hoops are a signature design and are quickly becoming very popular. They are designed by Dandelyne and laser cut in Melbourne. The husband and wife team then spend many nights sanding, drilling and constructing each hoop. The unique miniature hoops are used to frame the designs and are made into necklaces, brooches and key rings. There are two tiny sizes … 4cm and 5.5cm. They are also now available in DIY kits. Yes … you can make your very own!

Custom designs and portraits are also highly valued and requested. Her talent lies in being able to illuminate people and pets in a way that is truly unique. Her attention to small details, such as, clothes, shoes and hairstyles captures the essence of people and will bring a smile to your face. They are wonderful commemorative pieces that would fill any home with joy and giggles.
