Milk and Cookies is the creation of Melbourne based illustrator, designer and animator, Tali Gal-on.
Tali started doodling as a kid, just like every kid! She just never stopped, and her notebook margins are still brimming with weird little characters.
More recently, she has brought those characters to life through animation. Tali studied animation at the Victorian College of the Arts where she directed 2 films, Lucille and Crooked, which have gone on to screen at festivals around the world, including Annecy, the biggest animation festival , and Sydney Film Festival, where she was nominated for Best Animation.
After creating hundreds of drawings for her animated films, Tali decided to spend some time concentrating on single images, and the joy of image making.
In 2010, Tali opened her online shop, Milk and Cookies, and populated it with quirky creatures and creations, inspired by stories real and imagined. Tali creates her archival prints and cards inhouse in her little studio, which was recently hit by lightning. Unfortunately, no superpowers have been detected as a result of this event. Fingers Crossed!
Tali is currently working on an animated film clip, completing illustration commissions, coming up with new designs for Milk and Cookies, and designing for ABC Kids.
She is inspired by Soviet-era animation, nerdy podcasts, music, the interwebs and human beings.
